Oh, a Wiseguy!
Last night I was a surprise guest on The Wiseguy Show hosted by Vincent Pastore and Joe Causi from The Morning Mix radio show which Kiki Melendez happened to be guest for earlier.

I was at The Wiseguy Show with my client/husband Christian Finnegan who was their real guest and there to promote his new CD "Two For Flinching". They were having so much fun talking about my Jailed Deaf Dad, attempted murder, my growing up in a shed and what not that they plopped me down and had me participate in the disucssion. It was fun and Christian insisted I'm a real natural on the radio. Hmmm...maybe I could get a show on Sirius. Everyone else seems to have one!

Holy Smokes!
So much work and press going on and the warm weather I hardly know where the hell I am some days! Did anyone see Time Out NY's Holiday Gift Guide? Comix's new gift certificate was in the Comedy section! Awesome.

Okay, yesterday Kiki Melendez blew into town and started the blitz to promote "Hot Tamales LIVE!" at Comix. Basically it is a variety showcase she co-created and produced with Eva Longoria out in LA that she is bringing to NYC for your viewing pleasure.

We've got lots of press for Kiki, and Eva was kind enough to help spread the word despite her not being on any of the line ups. BUT, there are surprise celebrity guests for each show along with some fanTAStic comedians you know and love and Kiki is just the best, most enthusiastic woman ever.

Yesterday I booked her a spot on MTV, today she was on Telemundo, tomorrow I've got her on WNEW (listen live at 7:10 AM) and there should be a feature in the NY Daily News, Thursday Kiki is on Univision and *maybe* Radiochick on 92.3 while Eva will be on La Mega. Friday's show will be filmed for the tee vee and after Saturday's show we've got a Brazilian rum company throwing a big soiree. A bunch of forums and bloggers have buzzed about it and...whew...zowie...my head is spinning. How am I supposed to play Galaga?!?!

I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was low key and pleasant enough with turkey and all the trimmings at PJ Clarke's and a matinee of Casino Royale. Both were good though I wish the dinner was longer and the movie shorter.

Christmas came early this year in the form of Playstation's Namco Museum 50th Anniversary. Long time readers and/or recipients of my holiday gift giving will know my love for old school video games. Read here for my detailed review of the Namco 5-in-1 Plug N' Play and you'll see just why Playstation's version is the best thing to ever happen to me. It eliminates every single one of the negatives in my review AND it has more games on it like my ALL TIME FAVORITE: Galaga. I used to clock in hours of Galaga play during my breaks and rainy days while working at Malibu Grand Prix in Ft. Worth, Texas and I always seek it out in bars. Now, with the comfort of my own coach and glass of Shiraz, I can play to my heart's content. Best part? It was free thanks to our video game store allowing us to redeem a ton of old games we never play; though if we had to buy it, it's priced at an affordable $19.99.

Thankful.
Christian's CD "Two For Flinching" is now available on Itunes!

After radio today with Bobby Collins, I get to enjoy the night with friends before Thanksgiving: my first day off since taking the Comix gig. Oh, let's not kid ourselves, I'll be working at some point...just not at such a feverish pace. Christian and I are skipping the Rainbow Room this year. It's fun to get dressed up but the food and atmosphere isn't THAT good for the cost. So, no annual photo and no fancy car and no scmancy dress in the cold weather. We're opting for cozy warmth and stick to your ribs dining at one of our favorites. We have much to be thankful for in this year of major milestones and want to honor our good fortune with simplicity.

Assume the Position
Rocky, programming director of Comix, and I had a great meeting with Robert Wuhl today in anticipation of his live production of "Assume the Position" at Comix in December. If you haven't seen AtP on HBO, you can watch a clip on their site. I will say, though, that it will be even more fun to see it live since you won't be stuck in a bright lecture hall and there will be some new material Robert will be unveiling for the first time ever. There will be three shows total from Dec. 21-23 at 8:00 PM. It would be a nice little Hannukah or Christmas gift or make a great group outing, too. I'll be inviting the Tex in the City crew since Robert is an alumnus of the University of Houston.

Speaking of gifts, we just got our new gift certificates from the printer so you can get one for any sum of money for that hard to please person. Since we have no minimums and a wide variety of programming, you can rest easy knowing they'll surely find a show that they'll enjoy.

Jon Lovitz Re-Cap
Due to a flight delay, Jon missed the terrestrial radio appearances I had set up for him on Thursday. He still made the Conan O'Brien appearance and did really well. He & I spent about four hours yesterday on a radio tour of Sirius and 95.6 stations. We were exhausted and starving by the time we left so we grabbed some dirty water dogs and Fritos to tide us over. That's a long time to be "on", especially without a real break. But he was a trooper and everyone seemed to love having him on their shows.

Anyway, tickets to see Jon are still available for the last two shows tonight. They're only $35.00 and are available online at www.comixny.com or by calling 212.524.2500.

Yes, "Blane McDonnagh" or, in real life, Andrew McCarthy is totally upstairs and just, like, shook my hand.

Tonight & Beyond
Tonight's Hot Tub Variety Show at Comix tonight is a winner with David Cross, Michael Showalter, Jon Benjamin joining the regularly adorable hosts Kristen Schaal and Kurt Braunohler. I'll be staying for the show as a few friends will also be dropping in and tonight really is my last chance to see anyone and have a bit of fun before the next two weeks gets really haywire. Come on out if you want to see a GREAT show for only $15 with no minimums.

I forgot to mention that I am letting the producers of Don't You Forget About Me conduct some interviews for the documentary in our space. So that means tomorrow morning I have to leave Andrew McCarthy to go meet Jon Lovitz for an in-studio spot with JV & Elvis before heading over to Conan O'Brien to tape that show. Tomorrow is by far one of the more, "Holy crap, I could still be in a shed in Texas," kind of days.

I'm trying not to burn out completely but the amount of work piling up is getting a little out of control. I haven't done laundry in so long, I wore bathing suit bottoms as underwear.

Big Week
Look for Jon Lovitz all over the place including on Conan O'Brien's show on Thursday. He's promoting his headlining gig at Comix this weekend for which tickets are still available. Um, what else? Tonight is an amazing line up of old Chappelle's Show and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn regulars, including Colin, to benefit the American Cancer Society Upper Manhattan Chapter.

No time for play really, but work is definitely FUN these days! Oh, well, I DID go to Madame Tussaud's the other night with Grand Central Marketing to pick up the Diamond Award for Best Entertainment Marketing in the World! The pics of Keith & I interacting with Elvis and others are few but funny. I missed the photo opportunities of Keith breaking a glass of wine with our brand new award or my getting a FULL glass of red wine spilled down the entire front of my go to BCBG wrap dress. Luckily the print is busy and the spill was at the bottom of the dress where Keith noted no one would be looking since they're all looking at my breasts. True dat. It was a fun night but the only time I've been able to go out at all and even that was for work!

SNL Re-Cap
Okay, Saturday Night Live was "off the hook" or whatever the kids say these days about insanely awesome and surreal nights. We were center stage balcony, think back to the Clay Aiken sighting and you'll know these are awesome seats. Oh, and we were seated behind Stephen Baldwin. Alec Baldwin is the best host of all time, Kristen Wiig really shined and the whole episode actually had great moments of hilarity. Christina Aguilera was the musical guest and realy rocked the first number. I'm not a big fan of the second song but she can belt a freaking tune! Surprise guests included Steve Martin (which I scooped), Paul McCartney, Tony Bennett, Tracy Morgan & Tina Fey.

Afterwards, Bryan gave us a tour of the writer's room and the SNL offices including his own. He also showed us a clip of a music video he and his co-workers (Andy Samberg and two SNL writers whose names are in the video but for the life of me I can't understand) threw together in about 20 minutes. They put it up on YouTube and it's strangely addictive and hilarious, more so when you know Bryan and his two perfect little Gerber baby girls he has at home.

We then all piled into cars and headed to Asia de Cuba for the after party. At one point Christian stopped the conversation and noted, "We're at the fucking Saturday Night Live after party!" Then we ate.

--Kambri
And it was good. The after, after party, not so much.

I Was on JV & Elvis
Okay, not "on" them but on their show.

Elvis was "smitten" with me when I walked in with Andy Kindler for Andy's appearance on the JV & Elvis radio show on 92.3 Free FM. He had me get on the mike and be a part of Andy's appearance so he could flirt. Alas, I am married but we had a good time because Andy is hilarious and a terrific radio guest. Andy is co-headlining at Comix with Maria Bamford tonight for two shows and one show tomorrow night. Details and tickets are available at www.comixny.com.

What do Alec Baldwin & I Have in Common?
We'll both be at Saturday Night Live this weekend! He is by far the funniest man on TV right now and Christian & I were finally able to make it to see the show together. This time I'm going thanks to our friend Bryan who, I hope, will have at least one sketch make the final cut so I can laugh REALLY loudly at everything he wrote.

But for now, I'm wrapping up things here in the office so I can head into the showroom for the sold out South Toward Home benefit.

For you Andy Kindler fans, listen to JV & Elvis on 92.3 Free FM tomorrow at 11:00 AM to catch him live on the air promoting his co-headlining gig with Maria Bamford this weekend at Comix.

And tomorrow night, I get to dress up and go out with Keith and the other folks at Grand Central Marketing to pick up the award for the Best Marketing Campaign in the World for the Meow Mix House.

It's been a v. good week!

Wilmer Valderrama and Stuff
Richard Linklater and Eric Schlosser have taken Fast Food Nation, the non-fiction book, and turned it into a fictionalized dramatic film. It was interesting and informative and the performances were terrific but it really was just so-so. It was too long and some of the story lines just didn't take hold enough.

The Eric & Richard were at the AMMI special screening for donors with most of the male cast like Bobby Cannavale (very compelling as the slaughterhouse manager), Wilmer Valderrama (also very good), Paul Dano (from Little Miss Sunshine and perfect at the angst ridden teen role) and others.

Before the Q&A, I challenged Julie to find out why the moderator from here for Glenn Close and here for Bennett Miller annoys me. "He has a way with interviews that I want to see if you catch," I told her. Sure enough, he didn't let me down and said a statement with a query inflection at the end. Julie called it right away.

Afterwards we enjoyed the wine and treats and wandered through the museum chatting about cow meat and the movie. I commended Wilmer at a job well done and mentioned that Tommy Chong and I had spent a great deal of time together last week during which we chatted about That 70s Show and Wilmer. It was a nice, brief conversation after which I mentioned to Julie, "Christian is going to FREAK when he finds out who I was just chatting with!"

When I got home, Christian --still wearing a tux from his time with K-Fed and a private corporate gig-- was sitting on the couch. "Guess which celebrity I met tonight that you will be SO jealous I talked to?"

"Wilmer Valderrama?"

BINGO! First guess!

"YEP!" I exclaimed!

"Oh my God, you met Wilmer Valderrama on the same day I met K-fed?" He asked.
"HIGH FIVE!"

Christian is obsessed with using Wilmer as a punchline to any joke regarding celebrity and what not. In fact, Christian used him as the punchline for a joke during the Best Week Ever 100th episode party at Marquee even though Wilmer was there.

Anyway, the movie should have been a documentary but I guess there were just too many legal issues. The dramatized account falls flat despite the horrific ending scene which will never leave me and amazing acting. I'm guessing the critics will pan it, but we'll see soon enough. It opens in theaters very soon.

Borat, however, was GREAT! I am very cultured and socially relevant.

Christian is with K-Fed right now.
I am home illing hoping to feel better in time for tonight's special "Donor Recognition Screening" of Fast Food Nation at the AMMI with the filmmakers and followed by a reception. I haven't renewed my membership there, so I'm guessing they're trying to entice me back. I will definitely re-up my donation -- I'm a huge fan of the museum -- but am waiting for my life to settle down a bit so the year's membership starts around a time when I can actually enjoy the perks of free screenings, receptions, Q&As, etc.

Further gifts from the Universe or hints telling me to plug ahead with Love, Daddy came again last night and today. I received, quite possibly, the nicest email from a stranger who stumbled across my site and was moved to tears and to write me. Then a call from my high school pal Deborah in Myrtle Beach came today and she filled me with such positive words of encouragement and support. So I must find an hour to give back to the Universe -- and to myself -- a new entry or time toward scanning letters and writing Dad.

The New York Press ran this article today about comedy in NYC with a special mention of Comix.

Christian & I are having dinner with Molly and Matt just for fun and to hammer out details for her fundraiser for Mental Health Awareness on the 13th. She's got a great potential line up but no Xs signed on dotted lines. Cross your fingers for her.

Here's a nice interview with Christian in New York Resident.

And I totally forgot to link the Latest Ballyhoo on Sunday. Oopsy. Here it is.
