Save the Dates
I'm hard at work on two benefit shows. The first is April 26th with the Onion benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation and the second is June 4th benefiting the Humane Society and Mighty Mutts. Both are at Comix, of course, and will be big, fabulous shows. The second will even have a red carpet. So mark your calendars if you like comedy and want to contribute to two worthy causes.

After finally getting away for a short trip to Providence last weekend, I was reminded of just how important some R&R is. So, I promised myself I would spend at least Sunday doing something relaxing or fun or both away from my computer & phone. Today's weather was *almost* nice enough to merit a trip to Central Park -- just a bit too nippy for my taste -- but good enough for a jaunt up to the roof where we played cards and read the paper with Paquita, the sun and NYC skyline.
Comedy Central gave Christian a set of these nifty speakers and we have our roll up picnic table and new vinyl backed blanket to enjoy. Plus at the end of Summer last year, I got a cute, cheap little table that spikes into the ground with notches for wine glasses. Warmer weather can't get here soon enough!
--Kambri But the upside of Winter: Long, hot baths rule. Mmmmmm.

News Bits
Today the NY Post ran a feature article (complete with a full page photo and lead in!) about the sold out Moth GrandSLAM being held at Comix on March 27th and featuring Ballyhoo friend Ophira Eisenberg. I've heard a lot about the Moth and many people have encouraged me to try my hand at it. Now that I'll get to see it first hand, I just might.
Even better, yesterday Ballyhoo friend Anthony DeVito made his debut appearance on Best Week Ever. It's been a long time coming for him and he didn't disappoint. Plus he got an audition for the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. He's a good egg, that Anthony, and deserves good things.

GAH!
When this video of Christian randomly popped up in my inbox, I clicked on www.BestWeekEver.tv and saw the funniest video ever linked on is of a chimp and a bulldog:
Remember Christian & the "Apprentice to a Monkey" sketch? Almost as cute!
--Kambri Christian looks so fatherly, how about I adopt three homeless chimps?

Christian was on Fox's The Morning Show with Mike & Juliet this morning and got a nice plug for his CD "Two For Flinching". Next time I book him on the show, I'd like to give the audience a free copy a la Oprah's cars only, you know, smaller.
--Kambri Clip to come soon...once our assistant comes back from vacay.

Belated St. Patrick's Day
Did I ever link to the article Christian wrote for Penthouse? It's all about St. Patrick's Day and how it brings out the douche in all of us. Read it here.
Also, here's a bigger scan of yesterday's article with me and anipals pictured. A few Pasado's folks came across it and emailed. One is the new owner of Mohawk (pictured at right) who gave me a link to his Dogster page. Check him out! It's unbelievable how gorgeous and happy he is.

Rabbit Fears by Julia Szabo
Me, Paquita and Maybelline were in the NY Post today promoting bunny adoption this Easter. There's a big color picture of the three of us in the print version and a small one online. Check it out here.

[Insert Hokey Title Here.]
Okay, regardless of whether this is the right "forum" or not, I really need to tell of the tragedy that has been enveloped the "entertainment community". Here's my hokey headline for a press release: "Being a Comedian is No Laughing Matter" or "Depression: Nothing to Laugh About" -- whatever, as long as the point is made that...
Richard Jeni -- a talented comedian and friend of many -- killed himself. His wake in Brooklyn was today. A few of those who represented him also worked with Brad Delp (lead singer of Boston) who also killed himself. For whatever reason, that news just broke today though we've known all along that he took his own life. Also a tragic, sad ending -- just more quiet in the news. Then today the wife of a Comix employee suffocated herself with a plastic bag that she taped over her head. She was eight months pregnant.
My friend Molly threw a benefit earlier this year at Comix to raise money and awareness for various forms of mental illness. I want her to do it again. It's a real thing that devastates so many. If you or anyone you know is suffering from depression, seek help. It's out there.
--Kambri I'm leaving for Providence this weekend. I need time away. (Not depressed. Just sad for my friends.)

Nutso Week
Christian missed some phoners and he left his hamster's cage open so she (Aretha) escaped. Luckily we found her sleeping in his backpack in his closet. Tiny booger got lucky. But the absent mindedness is testament to how busy things are. Our lives are a whirling dervish right now.
I've had lower back pains that shoot down my leg from sitting in my chair for 10 hours straight. Missed watching Fresh Meat as a result but Page Six's Paula did really well, I heard, so I was happy about that.
Too long a story but short version is: There is a guy who I've been "battling" with via high scores on a video game a la the movie "Night of the Comet". I finally met him in person last night. He's a savant. Crazy, dorky savant. I wish he'd just leave my Magic Charms game alone. I'm the freaking winner of that one, okay?! You can have your Photo Hunt and Tri Towers just give me my Magic Charms.
Greg Fitzsimmons is at Comix this weekend. Had him on Stern this morning and he'll be on the Mike & Juliet show tomorrow. Tune in. He's funny. Save $5 with the code GFVIP online at http://www.comixny.com/ or by calling 212.524.2500. --Kambri Exhausted and can't share the real nitty gritty gossip of this week.

Zodiac was a really well made and well acted movie with no real point. Robert Downey, Jr. & Jake Gyllenhaal are terrific but two hours and 40 minutes is a lot to devote to something that is completely unresolved. It could be worse. I could be one of the victims' family members or detectives. There was a small role played by June of Casey & June ("Rode Hard and Put Away Wet") and I recognized her instantly from just a quick flash of her profile. I'm surprised there's been no buzz on the comedy forums and blogs.
Enjoy this very short bit of Christian on The Today Show from a few weeks back. Clips from his appearance on Mike & Juliet and our performance on the last Fresh Meat are forthcoming. Speaking of Fresh Meat, have you heard that Page Six's Paula Froelich is going to perform? She is! We're psyched. Finally, there are lots of discounts and free ticket offers in this week's Latest Ballyhoo.

From the twisted mind of my friend and Ballyhoo client Andres du Bouchet comes this blast:
Got a dog? Got a bra? Got a camera?
PROVE IT! Send me photographs of your dog in a bra! http://www.brasondogs.com
--Kambri I love Andres.

I'm going to organize GAYME NIGHT where me & Christian play games with all my gay friends including the new game Pervartistry. I can't think of any group better to play it with. I mean, really, if I have to draw "Dirty Sanchez" or Christian has to act out a "Rusty Trombone"...well, I smell good times brewing and mental pictures to last a lifetime.
I gave out a few Pervartistry games during the Oscars and it was a hit. (Speaking of the Oscar party, check out our red carpet pic. Next year I'm hiring a real photographer to take real red carpet pictures.) Plus, I met the creator of the game and she's just a doll so I want to learn the game and help sell the hell out of it!
Last night, after I overheard the gangsta talking about peeing sitting down, I dashed into the deli where my regular guy could hardly even LOOK at me because he was so riveted by the television. Curious as to why he was abnormally disconnected from chatting with me, I looked to see what was on the tube. Ice skating. Pairs. Maybe I should invite him to GAYME NIGHT.
Okay, back to PR (sorry and of course). Busy, early day ahead tomorrow morning with Chuck Nice on the CW 11 and Arj Barker on The Morning Show with Mike & Juliet. Both should get plugs for their Comix dates so cross your fingers and come see a show!
